Renting a house

Caller                  : Hello is this Mr. Alex?

                                 ( Halo, apakah ini Bapak Alex?)

Mr. Alex              : Yes, That’s right

                                 (Ya, benar)

Caller                  : I’m calling about your advertisement.

                                (Saya menelpon berdasarkan iklan anda)

Mr. Alex              : Yes, what would you like to know?

                                ( Ya, apa yang ingin anda ketahui?)

Caller                  : Well, firstly, how many rooms are there in that house, please?

                                ( jadi, pertama-tama, berapa total ruangan di rumah itu?)

Mr. Alex              : Eight altogether. There’s a large living-room, a dining room, three bedroom 

                               and two bathrooms. And, of course there’s a kitchen.  
                               (Delapan semuanya. Ada ruang tamu besar, ruang makan, tiga kamar tidur dan 
                                dua kamar mandi. Dan, tentu saja ada dapur)

Caller                   : Ok, thank for your information.

                                (baik, terima kasih atas informasinya)

Conversation 2

Asking about the bedroom

Jenny    : What’s your bedroom like?

                 ( Seperti apa ruang tidurmu?)

Candy   : It’s quite big

                (Agak besar)

Jenny    : What’s the bedroom got in it?

                ( Apa saja yang terdapat disana?)

Candy   : Well, there is a televison and a big mirror. There are two pillows on the bed and
                there’s a large cupboard against the wall.

                ( Ada sebuah televisi dan sebuah cermin besar. Ada dua buah bantal diatas kasur dan ada

                  sebuah lemari besar dibalik tembok)

Jenny    : And has it got refrigerator?

                ( Dan, apakah tedapat lemari es?)

Candy   : No, It hasn’t

                (Tidak ada)

Now, Mimin  akan menjelaskan penggunakan kalimat questions dan answer, dan ini bisa kalian modifikasi dengan pengembangan sendiri kalian ya.

1.       Cara bertanya dan menjawab mengenai jumlah atau ketersediaan furniture  yang ada di ruangan.

Questions :

a.       What’s the living-room got in it?

b.      What  furniture is there in the bedroom?

c.       What’s in the bedroom?

Answers:

a.       It’s got two chairs and a big cupboard

b.      There’s a sofa, two chairs, and a bookshelf.

2.       Cara bertanya dan menjawab ketersediaan benda/furniture dalam bentuk tunggal.

Questions:

a.       Is there a knife?

b.      Has it got a glass?

Answers:

a.       Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t

b.      Yes, It has./No, It hasn’t

3.       Cara bertanya dan menjawab ketersediaan benda/furniture dalam bentuk jamak

Questions:

a.       Are there any curtains?

b.      Has it got any bedrooms?

Answers:

a.       Yes, there are/ No, there aren’t

b.      Yes, It has./No, It hasn’t

4.       Cara bertanya dan menjawab letak  benda/furniture dalam bentuk jamak

Questions:

a.       Where are the towels?

Answers:

a.       They are in the in the cupboard

b.      They are next to window

5.       Cara bertanya dan menjawab letak  benda/furniture dalam bentuk tunggal

Questions:

a.       Where is the computer?

b.      Where is your car?

Answers:

a.       It’s on the table next  to the television

b.      It is in garage
